AIMI Trainee Travel Awards

The AIMI Center provides $500 travel awards to support Stanford trainees presenting their AI in health and medicine research at scientific conferences. The research must focus on AI in health or medicine aligning with the AIMI Center's research focus areas. These awards are designed to help trainees gain experience presenting their work, connect with other experts, and access new ideas to enhance their research.

Applicants must be enrolled at Stanford in an undergraduate, graduate, residency, fellowship, or postdoctoral program and have confirmation of an oral presentation at an academic conference. Applications should be submitted at least one month prior to travel. Awardees must acknowledge Stanford AIMI in their presentation and any related publications. The travel awards may be used to help cover approved travel costs, such as conference fees, airfare, and accommodations in line with university guidelines.

Award Terms

  • Travel awards may be used to help cover eligible expenses such as conference registration fees, airfare, and accommodations, in accordance with Stanford University travel guidelines.
  • Awards are issued as reimbursement only, and funds will be reimbursed after the recipient submits:
    1. Proof of acceptance to give an oral presentation
    2. Valid receipts and proof of payment for approved expenses
  • Award recipients agree to the following:
    • Acknowledge AIMI in their presentation and any resulting publications using the statement: “This work was supported in part by the Stanford Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging (AIMI).”
    • Submit a copy of their presentation and a photo of themselves presenting, which may be shared on AIMI’s website or social media channels
    • Attend and if asked, present at least one AIMI event within one year of receiving the award
