MyHeart Counts: How Mobile Apps Expand Research Possibilities

How are mobile apps changing the way we think about heart disease? Dr. Steve Hershman, director of mHealth at Stanford University, will discuss the MyHeart Counts study, which utilizes Apple’s ResearchKit platform to gather data on physical activity and other heart health-related parameters. Dr. Hershman is accompanied by Anna Shcherbina, who is the lead data scientist for MyHeart Counts, as well as Yas Moayedi, a postdoctoral medical fellow who recently launched ReBoot, a tele-monitoring post-heart transplant project.
